Parents Plus is an Irish charity that develops practical, evidence-based parenting and mental health programmes.

Parents Plus is organising a free evidence-based parenting course promoting confidence, learning and positive behaviour in children aged 6 to 11 years.

The course will be run over 8 weeks taking place every Tuesday from 26th April to 21st June 2022. It will be held in Carrigaline Family Support Centre from 10 - 12. It is free to attend and open to all parents and carers whose children are in the catchment areas covered by Carrigaline Family Support Centre and Kinsale Youth Support Services (KYSS).

Topics include:

Solving childhood problems.
Play and special time with children.
Building children’s self-esteem and confidence.
Encouraging children’s learning/supporting homework.
Setting rules and helping children keep them.
Establishing daily routines.
Managing misbehaviour using consequences and sanctions.    
Problem solving/talking problems through with children.

The course will be facilitated by Michelle Murphy, Carrigaline Family Support Centre & Natalie Kane, Kinsale Youth Support Services (KYSS).
