What started out as a dip one day has now lead me to doing nearly a full year of Sea Swims/Dips .
Never had I the idea of hitting 365 consecutive days in the water, until recently I just kept getting in each day since November 2020, one day lead to one week, which then I went for 50 days, then 100 days and I have been keeping it going ever since. It helped me with my own mental health and kept my mind ofF things which for me at the time was having to cut all the travels short and the life in Australia behind, getting in the sea helped take my mind off it all.
The people I got to meet and the connections made over the past year of sea swimming as been amazing and now that I’m close to nearly hitting 365 dips in a row I thought it would be a nice thought to raise funds for mental health for two charities @kinsale_youth_support_services and @pieta.house
These charities and services help many people and the work they do in the community is fantastic to help those in suicidal distress and promote positive mental health.
I have set up a go fund me page https://www.gofundme.com/f/3-6-5-dip-a-day-challenge if any of you would like to make a donation to wonderful charities and services.
Mark Eaton is especially inviting people to join him for a dip on November 26 @ 3:30pm in Garrylucas beach when he will reach a full 365 days in the water!
